Sofia Papathanasi – Vgontza was born in Athens in 1974. She is a graduate of School of Fine Arts in Athens in Painting (dr. T. Patraskidis, M. Gavathas) (2007) and T.E.I. in Athens in Photography, (1998).

She has attended many seminars for children art, illustration and art therapy. She has illustrated more than twenty children books, cd covers, theatrical sceneries and graphics. She is also a teacher of painting at Private School of “Theomitor” from 2012.

She has participated in several group exhibitions as well as four solo exhibitions.

Lives and works in Athens with her husband and their son. Some of her paintings are to be found in private collections or culture associations.
